Ubuntu 6.10 “Edgy Eft” Released

October 27th, 2006

edgythumb.jpgThe latest version of Ubuntu was just released yesterday, and it does not disappoint. The most noticeable changes are to the artwork. This is the best looking Ubuntu release to date, and one of the most consistently themed desktop Linux distribution available.

The major changes include:

  • GNOME 2.16
  • TomBoy
  • F-Spot
  • Evolution 2.8.0
  • Firefox 2.0 (just released October 24th)
  • Open Office 2.0.4
  • Gaim 2.0 Beta 3.1
  • Orca
  • A new theme
  • Rounded window borders
  • Upstart
