Update: Even better news, I was wrong. Contrary to my earlier report, Bell ExpressVu has actually added 4 new HD channels. I did not notice that Movie Central HD2 is now active at Channel at 842. All I can say is wow at this point. It looks like HDNet is close as well, keep watching for channel 814 to pop up.
My origional post is below the fold.

According to MediaPost publications, PVR owners actually watch less TV than non PVR owning households. I’d say that this is probably true based on my own personal experience. In our household, we set the PVR to record all new episodes of shows that we watch, and we only turn the TV on when we feel like watching them.
Having a PVR in the house has changed how we use the TV, and it has made TV watching a deliberate affair, instead of a “nothing better to do”. Our ExpressVu 9200 PVR also has a nice 30 second fast forward button that pretty much eliminates commercials, saving on average 20 – 30 minutes per hour of TV watched.

In case you havn’t heard, the FIFA World Cup starts in a couple of days. And for those of you, who like me subscribe to Bell Express Vu’s HD service, you will be able to catch all of the games in HD! Rogers Sports Net and TSN w/ CTV have teamed up to bring all of the games over to Canada. TSN and SportsNet will share the games and CTV will air the final.
If you are a Shaw customer you should be able to get The games and the finale, since Shaw does carry SportsNet HD, TSN HD, and CTV HD.
I’m hoping CTV does a better job with the World Cup final then they have been doing with their simsub’d HD shows. (CSI, American Idol, etc).
