PVR Owners Actually Watch Less TV
According to MediaPost publications, PVR owners actually watch less TV than non PVR owning households. I’d say that this is probably true based on my own personal experience. In our household, we set the PVR to record all new episodes of shows that we watch, and we only turn the TV on when we feel like watching them.
Having a PVR in the house has changed how we use the TV, and it has made TV watching a deliberate affair, instead of a “nothing better to do”. Our ExpressVu 9200 PVR also has a nice 30 second fast forward button that pretty much eliminates commercials, saving on average 20 - 30 minutes per hour of TV watched.
